The last race of the season at Teardrop Lakes in Milton Keynes went with a bang for an elated Tring Running Club as they bagged an array of awards and trophies.

Lynda Hembury was 1st Female V55 and Alison Harding finished as 2nd V55, while Tring also finished as 2nd vets ladies’ team and bagged the Denis Orme Trophy for most increased participation from last season.

Orme was a firm believer that cross country had a place for everyone and always wanted to encourage mass participation.

A team of 23 men and 14 ladies ran for Tring, headed up by club captains Mary Ward and Rick Ansell. Both Mary and Rick said they were absolutely delighted by the participation this year and thanked everyone for their efforts and amazing team spirit.

Tring finished an astounding ninth in Division One, which is remarkable as they do not have a junior side to add to their score.
