D&T runners turn out for Gadebridge celebration parkrun

A wet Saturday morning didn't deter a phenomenal turnout of the purple people at Gadebridge parkrun to celebrate Jamie Marlow's 50th and Annette Howard's 100th parkrun.

A true testament​to both member’s popularity was the 51 strong army that amassed at 0900h to run the soggy, undulating 5k course.

The two Jamies made their mark with Jamie Marlow being first member home, fifth overall in 19.50 followed by Jamie Saunders who was acting as the 20min pacer in 19.54.

Young James Wass was next to take first JM15­17 in 20.35, Robert Jackson making his all­time parkrun debut finished in 21.03, Steve Russell in 21.29 and Andy Wass running Gadebridge for the first time in a time of 22.01.

Next across the line were four successive D&T runners; Chris Marriott in 22.10, Michael Irvine 22.20, Michael Lamb 22.21, Russell Morris 22.57 and closely followed by Chris Kitchener in 22.57.

Bagging himself yet another PB was Rasmi Nanda finishing in 23.14, Richard Stevens in 23.40, second lady overall Celia Findlay in 24.09 with Robert Davies hot on her heels finishing in 24.10. Young Daniel Belsey out ran his dad to finish in 24.19, Robert Salt 24.21 and then dad Richard Belsey in 24.22. David Stears crossed in 24.28, Keith Wishart 24.47, Giles Leather 24.51, Samantha Sullivan 24.57, Wendy Durrant 25.10, Andy Mitchell 25.16, Heidi Greaves 25.22 and then two gentlemen both earning new PBs, Jim Mason in 25.34 and Danny Wells in 25.37. Ken Perry. 1st VM65­69 in 26.38, Julie Regan in 27.09, son and mother Henry and Charlotte Ashton in 27.11 and 27.12 respectively, Erica Klein 27.57, Patrick Mostyn 25.02, Gary Sturdy in a new PB of 28.52, Debbie Kennard also making her Gadebridge debut finished in 29.19 and Denise Burford 29.24.

Andy Wass’s wife Karen ran 29.32, Star Phillips 29.29 and Rob Wright ran a new PB of 29.50. Gwen Mostyn paced the 30min group to finish in 29.53 and two more new runners to Gadebridge were Carmel Sitkowski 29.58 and Alan Grover in 30.59.

Michelle Ashwell crossed in 31.01, Victoria Thornely in 31.09, Annette Howard in 31.10, Kirsty Russell 31.51, Jessica Morrison 32.30, Sam Hawkridge, who ran parkrun as part of her training run, finished in 34.31, Louise Tainsh 38.41 and Jules Robinson running with sons Freddie and Alfie who were running their first ever parkrun. Freddie and Jules finished in 41.03 and 41.04 respectively whilst Alfie ran ahead to finish in 36.34. On hand volunteering were Karen Wishart, Pat Hayball, JJ, Philip Pugh and Tony Reeve.

Down by the seaside in Southsea, Matthew Salt stormed round the course to finish in 18.28 to finish as 3rd male. Over at St Albans, John Cooper ran 26.53 and Peter Bailey 36.00 and at Cassiobury Rachel Lewis and Tim Coysh running together in 26.33 and 26.34 respectively and Kevin Moore in 30.05 We had one runner at Aldenham, Daniel Griggs sped round the lake to finish as 5th overall in 22.15. Whilst visiting her parents, Louise Flower snuck out for a quick 23.44 run at Gunpowder parkrun. No­one ran South Oxhey but Emma Donovan was there volunteering.
