After weeks of negotiation, Hemel Stags have announced the signings of two top class Australians who have a wealth of rugby league experience under their belts – Rhys Bowditch and Dylan Readman.
On announcing the signings, Hemel coach Troy Perkins said: “Both Dylan and Rhys are fantastic signings for the Stags. They have both played at a very good level in Australia and will give us plenty of quality on the field.
“I have been in regular contact with them for a while and both of them have impressed me with their desire and ambition to be involved with the club.
“Dylan is a hooker who can also play in the halves and has been playing with Moss Vale Dragons and Dapto. He also toured the UK with NSW Group 6 U18s, playing against Super League clubs such as Warrington and Wigan.
“Rhys is a backrower with a very high work rate who played for Dapto in the Wollongong competition before he headed off to the USA where he played for Philadelphia Flight.
“These two signings show the club’s intent to assemble a very competitive squad for this season.”
Readman said: “I’m really excited and privileged to be a part of the Stags squad next season. Troy has told me about the great signings he has made and I’m eager to get on the paddock and see what we have to offer this year.”
Bowditch added: “Not only am I excited but very thankful for this opportunity to play with Hemel. Troy has begun building a strong side based on new signings and existing players.
“So to be a part of the 2016 season will be something special. I’ll continue to contribute to my new team on and off the field, giving it everything I have.”
