Megan shows why she's top 10 material

Megan Smith continues to show just why she is rated as one of the country's best young athletics talents at her latest meet.

The 12-year-old notched two English Schools qualifying times (EQTs) at her latest meet, just a few months after returning from long-term injury.

The Dacorum and Tring athlete won the 200m A race in a pb, club record and EQT, while adding another qualifying time in her favourite event - the high jump - justifying her ranking in the top 10 of the all-time U13 UK high jumpers.

Megan then capped a tremendous treble at Windsor by winning the 4 x 100m relay with Pippa Mills,Jatilla Reavil-Blake and Jenna Haill, on her debut appearance for the women's team.

Jenna also gained a pb in the 800m B and the 200m B.

Jatilla won the 100m A race and the long jump while Amie Moores helped out with a new best time in the A string of the javelin.

There were a string of double first places in the seniors.

Aiofe Kelly and Laura Brown (400m A and B) Sarka Robinson and Steff Huntingford (high jump A and B) Liz Gale and Freya Reith (javelin A and B) and Natasha Brunning and Bex Redding (triple jump A and B) all set the standard for their club colleagues.

Sarka also won the Shot Putt A and Natasha the pole vault B.

The match finished on a high with a first win for several years in the 4 x 400m relay.

Aiofe Kelly, Steff Huntingford, Laura Brown and Liz Gale left the rest of the field trailing in their wake.

New best times were achieved Laura Brown in the 800m and 400m B, Becky Armorgie in the 1500m A and Rebbecca Harding in the 3000m A.

It will be a confidence boost for Rebecca, who later this week will represent Britain in the European Junior Orienteering competitions in Belgrade.

Dacorum and Tring came in second overall with 137 points, with home side Windsor Slough Eton & Hounslow first with 186 points.

Horsham were third with 131 point
