Bury Judo Club members were in good form at the British Judo Council Closed National Championships in Hereford.

The highlight of the day was 15-year-old Beth Curran competing in her last junior nationals before she becomes a senior in March.

Curran was clearly intent on bowing out of the junior category in style, winning all of her fights with some good ippon throws.

Haydn Williams, meanwhile, won a silver medal in the junior U30kg category, while seniors Ben Atkinson (U66kg) and Tim Morris (Vets U90kg) also bagged silvers.

Liam Trill Green (U34kg) and Conner Appelton (O90kg) completed the Bury medal haul with well-earned silvers.

Other members of the Hemel club who took part were Jayden Duberry, Ralph Williams, Jack Banford and Alex Gill.
