Ladies batter Team GB side

Team GB got a lesson in how to play football from Hemel Hempstead Ladies

They beat their visitors 7-0 less than a month before the British side travel to Israel for the 18th Maccabiah Games in late July.

Leading 1-0 at the half-time, Hemel adjusted quickly to the soaring heat and, driven on by captain Charlene Turturici went two up within four minutes of the restart.

Goals from Natalie Adams (2), Stephanie Cripps (2) and youth team starlet Kim Neild (2)helped to the newly-promoted Hemel side to the win.

"They all played really well," said temporary boss Dean Cripps.

"We always try and get the ball down and play football and that's what we did."

The ladies plan to field two teams in competitive leagues next year.

They are holding trials for the forthcoming season on July 5, 12 and 19 at Pennine Way fields, of Link Road, between 11am and 12:30pm
