Hemel Hempstead Town’s cricketers are celebrating winning the Indoor Championship at Redbourn.

Hemel were in the top division of the competition that runs from September to December, along with Flamstead, Frogmore, Redbourn, Kings Langley and winners for the last three years, St Albans.

Going into the final round of games, Hemel – who had been inconsistent in the early stages – needed to beat leaders St Albans to have any chance of taking the title.

St Albans were progressing nicely at 78-2 until they lost their four wickets for 10 and were eventually all out for 88. Hemel knocked off the runs in the last over – securing their third win on the trot and the championship.

Hemel’s regular team members were Josh Graves, Billy May, Will Langley, Brad Finch, Dan Blacktopp and Ollie Tuck
