Tom Kemplen scored a hat-trick for the BHHHC third team against Bedford.

A good weekend at Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Hockey Club saw the full eight games played, with the Berko representatives winning five and losing just two of their fixtures.

The biggest win came from the men’s second XI who beat Stevenage 7-1, while the men’s third team have now won three games on the trot to climb from second bottom to fifth in the league table

Other wins came from men’s fourths, the ladies’ seconds and the ladies’ thirds.

The men’s fifth team drew in a tough game away at Cheshunt – a result that sees them extend their unbeaten run to eight games – while the club’s two defeats both came by a narrow 2-1 margin.

Goals came from all areas of the pitch in the demolition of Stevenage by the men’s second XI, while Tom Kemplen notched a hat-trick for the thirds in their 3-1 triumph over Bedford.

Goals from Ben Moorhouse (2), Brian de Mattos (2) and James Russell did the damage for the men’s fourth team against Stevenage, while the ladies’ second completed a hat-trick of wins for Berko against the same opponents.

Paula Wilson led the way with a hat-trick, and Katie Hedge and Sarah Brydon were also on target in a 5-0 victory which maintains the ladies’ position at the summit of the league table.

Elsewhere, Ed Holderness was the goalscorer for the men’s fifth team in their 1-1 stalemate with Chesham.
