On an unforgiving surface at Amersham Town’s ground last Wednesday the recently signed Tudor forward Jake Robinson was sent clear in the eighth minute, rounding the keeper and slotting home.

Nine minutes into the second half, the uneven surface accounted for the Tudor keeper miskicking into the path of the on-coming home striker whose measured shot saw the teams draw level.

Robinson responded three minutes later in hitting the near post. However, this only signalled a second defensive lapse as a minute later the home side led 2-1.

Eleven minutes from time, substitute Jonny McNamara almost restored parity when his crisp drive struck a post. But with just one minute remaining sub Mitchell Weiss did draw his side level when put through.

With the Tudors going for the win, in the dying seconds Weiss completed a quick-fire brace when his near-post header from a corner nestled into the far corner of the net and victory was assured.

The Tudors were due to travel to AFC Dunstable on Tuesday. They head to Harrow Borough on Thursday before hosting Boreham Wood on Saturday and Cheshunt on Tuesday, August 2.
