Hemel's Hamilton revving to go

Matt Hamilton is hoping to push for podium places as he begins a season in the country's top racing championships.

The Hemel Hempstead racer will officially be unveiled as a driver for British Touring Car Championships team TH Motorsport next Tuesday.

The former karter, who went to Thomas Corum School and Ashlyns, is now counting the days until he makes his debut bow for the Watford-based team at Thruxton on April 3 and 4.

"I certainly think it's realistic that by the end of the season I can be getting podium finishes" he said.

"At the start there will be a lot of learning involved but the car has a lot of potential to upset some of the bigger teams."

Matt reveals more, including what it is like to be asked for his autograph by race fans, in The Gazette, which comes out on Wednesday March 17.
