Robinson’s last game in charge was a 4-1 defeat to Barking in the first round of the FA Vase on Saturday afternoon.

A club spokesman said: “The club wish to thank Julian for his hard work and dedication to this role over the last four years.

“During this period Julian has introduced many young players to senior football with some moving on to play at a higher standard. We wish him every success for the future.”

Ian Richardson will take charge of the team temporarily.

The club statement continued: “In the meantime the committee have asked Ian Richardson to oversee all first team footballing matters, with assistance from others within the club, until such time that a formal appointment is made.”

Tring’s first game without Robinson saw them fall to a 3-1 defeat to Ware in the Herts Senior Challenge Cup first round on Tuesday night.

Athletic put up a good fight before they were ultimately undone by their higher ranked opposition.

Athletic played well despite the result and deservedly took the lead through Lee Stobbs.

But Ware, who fielded virtually their full first team, equalised just before half-time then added two goals in the second half.

Next up for Tring is an SSML Premier Division fixture away at Wembley FC.
