Tring Athletic secured a gritty 1-0 win at St Margaretsbury in the SSML Premier Division on Tuesday.
Tring took the lead in the 19th minute through a Chris Blunden header after superb play by Kieran Turner.
Blunden then rather blotted his copybook by getting two yellow cards within the space of five minutes early in the second half which meant they had to play the last 40 minutes with 10 men.
Tring had to dig in and had keeper Matt Evans to thank for saving a penalty as they showed great commitment and team spirit to hang on for the victory.
On Saturday Athletic face Harefield United at home in a Premier Division match.
