It’s back to the more familiar surroundings of Broadwater, as the club look to build on a record attendance of 1,102 at Vicarage Road.

Last time out saw a performance of an encouraging nature against Reading, although the result wasn’t what was wanted.

First team coach Jackie Bushell feels the break will have helped the side, saying: “We had quite a tough first part of the season with four games close together.

“The Easter break has given us a little bit of time to recuperate, to build in some additional fitness work and work on the technical outcomes that we’ve seen from those games. We tried a new formation against Reading and it worked well in stages.

“With the longer time in between the Reading and Millwall games it’s given us a chance to refocus players, look at the strategy that we’re going to try and implement for the rest of the season and to build on that.”

The Golden Girls will face a familiar foe in Millwall, with the two teams having met four times over the last 12 months. Notably, all of the meetings have either been decided by a single goal or drawn.

Bushell is expecting more of the same, adding: “This will be a decent test for us because I think we’re quite well matched, so it should be a really good close game.

“They have got an attacking threat and we do need to be wary of their key players. However I think if we play to our strengths, we’ll be able to get a result.

“We’ve been getting a lot of good forward play recently and now we need to start turning that into goals.”

While the previous game was always going to be tough test, many would argue there’s very little that separates the majority of the league in terms of quality.

“There’s going to be a number of teams we’ll be really competitive against,” Bushell said. “We have got to make those games count.

“The team spirit is very good, we’ve got just got to put the positives into practice when we play against Millwall this coming Sunday.”
