Lions roaring as sponsors help them to kit up

A junior football team is all smiles thanks to the help of a local business.
The Comets Lions U12s were on the brink of collapse at the end of last season, but Cash Convertors have stepped in to help them out.
The shop, based in the Marlowes, agreed to sponsor the team and paid for a new set of kits for the youngsters.
Peter Lawson, joint-manager of the Lions said: “ At the end of last season we had a mass exodus of players and only had seven lads left.
“Over the summer we managed to attract more players, but still no two players had the same shirt.
“So I spoke to Cash Converters manager Darren Bolino and he said he would be interested in sponsoring the team. They paid for new kits and the team are really grateful to them for helping out.”
The Lions have made a good start to the season after restarting in the West Herts League and Peter, 45, says he is delighted with how things are going.
“My son Jamie (Vitue) basically volunteered me for the role of manager!” he said.
“From a selfish point of view, it is great to see my son playing in a football team which is what he wanted to do.
“From a manager’s perspective, it’s great to see the team battling for each other and working together.”
