West Herts Youth League under 15s Div. 1

Abbots Youth 0 Woodhall Wanderers 3

On a miserable morning, Wanderers displayed true grit to find themselves leaders of the league once more.

It was no small thanks to a hard fought brace from Silvester Gakou and a wonderous high dipping strike by Jason Potts.

Theres still plenty to play for in this division.

MOM went to 'Silky' Gakou.

Kind Regards,

PAUL WILSON

Watford Friendly League

Berkhamsted Raiders U18s

Berkhamsted Raiders 1:4 Aldenham FC

James Williams, who was also Raiders' Man of the Match, scored their only goal from a free kick, in an otherwise disappointing 4:1 defeat against Aldenham FC.

Watford Friendly League U18

Northwood White 2 Echoes Orange 1

Two unbeaten teams met in a top of the table clash in heavy conditions. The game was very competitive with few chances created at either end. Not surprisingly half time was reached with the game goalless. However early in the second half Echoes moved in front when leading scorer Ollie Gurney forced home a corner. This prompted Northwood to up their game as for the rest of the match they pressed Echoes back. The Echoes defence, well marshalled by man of the match Tom Smith, held firm until 20 minutes from the end. At that point a Northwood miscued shot fell kindly for a close range equaliser. Northwood then went on to grab a winner with a spectacular driven cross shot.
