From the start of the game Flaunden played some very nice football on a good playing surface at Broadwater.

The away side opened the scoring on 24 minutes with Lee Butler netting from outside the area, and it wasn’t long before they made it 2-0, with left-back Ryan Anthony finishing well with a left footed shot after a knockdown by Matt Bateman.

In the second half Flaunden really stamped their authority on the game as Anthony scored a superb goal from outside the box into the top corner.

The fourth came in the 73rd minute and was a fine team effort; a lovely deft flick from the returning Gillard found Bateman who completely wrong-footed the keeper and scored his first league goal of the season.

The final goal came from the penalty spot after the energetic Gillard was brought down in the box, and it was left to Anthony to step up smash the ball into the corner of the net for his hat-trick.

All in all, a very disciplined performance by Flaunden who go on to next week with a county cup tie at home to Leverstock Green Centurions.
