GB star dives in for Tring masterclass

Waiting for Video...

An Olympic swimmer made a splash at Tring Swimming club when he dropped by for a coaching masterclass.

Graig Gibbons, who was part of Team GB at London 2012, offered handy tips and advice to the Tring youngsters who are hoping to follow in his footsteps.

“It has all been positive,” said Gibbons. “The kids all wanted to ask me questions about the Olympics and wanted to know what really happened in the village, and what all the free stuff was like.

“It is really cool and to be able to come and pass on all the things I’ve learned in my career to them and hopefully make them better swimmers is something that I’ve really enjoyed doing.”

Tring Swimming Club coach Justin Langford added: “The kids got an insight into Craig’s way of swimming and the level that he has to work at.

“Someone with his level of experience is only ever going to be an advantage to a club like Tring.

“For the swimmers to see everything he can do will only ever be a benefit.
