Eastleigh prove too good for Levy Reserves

Eastleigh Reserves 3
 Leverstock Green Reserves 0

Leverstock Green Reserves were eliminated from the Suburban League Cup on Saturday after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of a talented Eastleigh side.

Green were the underdogs going into the game, but the visitors battled bravely in the first half to ensure that the scores were locked at 0-0 at half-time.

Eventually, though, Eastleigh’s class shone through and they opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when Lerone Plummer back-heeled the ball into the net from a Corey King corner.

The goal had an energising effect on Green, and they pressed hard for a leveller – creating a number of good chances.

But the equaliser proved elusive and Eastleigh wrapped up the win with further goals from King and Josh Armstrong.
