Berkhamsted completed a league double over AFC Dunstable on Saturday in a thoroughly entertaining game at Broadwater.

Berko has taken the lead twice, only to be pegged back on both occasions, before Dan Griggs kept his cool from the spot to earn the win for the hosts with two minutes to play.

And Comrades manager Mick Vipons was understandably pleased with his side’s display.

“We’ve beaten them home and away now which is very pleasing,” he said.

“The fans definitely got their money’s worth and there is a good atmosphere back at the club again.”

It was Dunstable who has the first real chance of the game when Carl Tasker gave away a penalty early on, but the Berko keeper made amends with a fantastic full-length diving stop from the resulting spot-kick.

And it did not take Berko long to make the visitors pay for their profligacy – skipper Dale Sears blasting home from the edge of the penalty area in the 13th minute.

Craig Butler curled home a sublime free-kick to equalise for Dunstable in the 22nd minute, but Berko regained their lead 14 minutes later through a fierce 20-yard strike from Griggs.

Another free-kick from Butler restored parity once more, but Griggs had the final say when he tucked his penalty home in the 88th minute after a handball from a Dunstable defender.
