Berkhamsted continued their pre-season preparations with a comfortable 4-0 win at SSML Division One side Winslow United.

The Comrades went in front after six minutes when BJ Christie’s cross from the left was bundled home by Jude Eboji for his first goal since joining from Biggleswade United.

Eboji’s neat back-heel then set up Steve Hawes, who doubled the lead with a curling 20-yard shot.

It was 3-0 at half-time as Berko counter-attacked at pace and Christie found Adiel Mannion who netted his fourth goal of the week.

Berko used eight substitutes in the second half and added one more goal to their tally. Jay Caines was bundled over in the penalty area and Courtney Massay scored from the spot.

The home side kept to their task well and it was a useful work out for both teams.

Berkhamsted starting XI: Tasker, Massay, Canham, Rodrigoe, Baldry, Hawes, Farrelly, Weeks, Eboji, Christie, Mannion. Subs used: Gomm, Nash-Barber, Foster, Jowle, Caines, Carbery, Kelly, Owen-Edwards.

Berko will have two tough games this week – on Saturday they travel to Clarence Park for a friendly with a St Albans City XI, with a 3pm kick off. Then on Tuesday they are at home to Kings Langley, who won the SSML Premier Division last season.
