BSFL round-up: Cup misery for Boxmoor as Health City clinch the trophy

There was cup final heartbreak for Boxmoor at the weekend as they lost 2-0 to Nirankari Health City in the Herts Sunday Junior Cup.

It was better news for Flaunden and Everett Rovers, however, as they booked a cup final showdown in the Steve Norwood Cup.

Flaunden beat Doves United 5-3 in their semi-final, with goals coming from Matt Dean, Lee Butler, Ed Canham and Aaron Baverstock (2), while a single strike from Alex Gilbert was enough for Everett to edge past AFC Boars.

In league action, BSFL Division One side Apsley Athletic had Jack Wood (4) and Ant Hall (2) to thank for a 6-3 triumph over Hemel Athletic, while Scott Porter and Ben Hedland got the goals for FC Jubilee in a 2-1 win against Potten End Sunday.

Jam United also added three points to their tally as Scott Grimes and Chris Steel were on target in a 2-0 victory at Gossoms End.

There were plenty of goals in BSFL Division Two as Berkhamsted Athletic Reserves won 4-3 at Landrovers courtesy of efforts from Ricky Shepherd (2), Joe Kemp and Harry Bassett.

Hemel Tudors beat Old Bell Athletic 3-2 with goals from Chris Chance and Michael McQuade, while Greenacres Tavern drew 2-2 with Robin Hood, and The Queens Head shared a 1-1 draw with Comets Sports Club Reserves.

AFC Saints went goal crazy in BSFL Division Three as they thrashed Hemel Harriers 9-2 with strikes from Denis Dresh (3), Bradley Turner (2), John Walker (2), Phil Malloy and an own-goal.

Berkhamsted Tornadoes A thumped The Midland 5-1 through efforts from Charlie ance (2), Sam Waterhouse (2) and Chris Hogg, while Leather Bottle had Ben Butler, Noah Jones and Lee Mills to thank for a 3-1 win against GB Precision.

A Marcus Tower hat-trick was added to by a strike from Ben Judge as Olly’s Athletic were 4-0 winners against Greenacres II Reserves.
