Drinks on Mike after hole-in-one glory

It wasn't all good news for a golfer who got a hole-in-one.

Mentmore Golf & Country Club member Mike Bowen's ended up buying a round of drinks for the entire senior field at the club after his cracking tee off shot.

Past senior's captain Mike, said: "I decided to use a 4-iron and it was the perfect strike that just tracked towards the flag all the way.

"Upon approaching the green I saw a ball towards the back of the green which was not mine and upon further searching we discovered my ball was in the cup!"

Mike, who has been a member at Mentmore since 1997, plays at a handicap of 12.

He produced the shot, from right out of the top draw, at the club's weekly senior's stableford.
