Double delight as Green girls weather snow storms

Training at Leverstock Green Tennis Club has been stop start for months because of the weather.

The club, who only have outdoor pitches, missed countless sessions because of the recent snow.

Despite this, two of their girls have been called up for the first county event of the year, eclipsing other clubs who have indoor training facilities. Tessa Cawley and Anna Liddelow, both nine, will play the some of the country's best U10s in the 12 Counties Championships next Sunday (March 14).

"It's a big achievement to get them in a county team with other girls playing four or five times a week" said head coach Paul Dent.

"They were at a distinct disadvantage - we've really struggled with the weather."
