Dacorum and Tring runners stay on track

Runners from Dacorum and Tring Athletics Club were in action on Saturday at the Chiltern League meet in Shuttleworth.

A group of 15 men and five ladies were in action at the second match of the season, over a deceptively tough course.

The ladies team were once again led home by Catherine Davies, in a very respectable 23rd position.

Next was Francis Roberts in 33rd, and she was followed by Wendy Pearson in 40th, Elizabeth Roberts in 47th, and Rupinder Mahil in 65th.

The men’s race, meanwhile, saw Matt Salt finish in an excellent fifth place, with Jack Parslow close behind him in ninth.

Next back for Dacorum and Tring was Alex Gardner in 77th, followed by Andrew Trevillion in 137th, Stephen Shaw in 159th, Martin Arnold in 162nd, Ken Perry in 172nd, Antony Allen in 175th, John Cooper in 178th, Malcolm Sargent in 193rd, Paul Glyn in 194th, Peter Bailey in 197th, and Fabian Mills in 198th.

The junior squad was depleted due to a clash with a district school’s meet, but Rhys Rowlands and Samuel Fielding took 33rd and 40th place respectively for the U15 boys.

In the U13 boys’ race, Joshua Van Heiningen finished 31st and Curtis Green was 47th, while James Glyn, Archie Pond and Joel Amos were 10th, 44th and 49th respectively for the U11 boys.

Alex Eykelbosch and Sarah Grover were 13th and 24th for the U17 ladies, and Maddie Perry took 39th for the U11 girls.
