Camelot crushed at Chiswick
Being level at 7-7 was as good as it got for a young Camelot side.
They were convincingly beaten 33-7 at Chiswick, a result leaving them seventh in the table, with a rearranged match against sixth-placed UCS Old Boys approaching this weekend.
The visiting men in blue went seven behind following a loose defensive kick after 10 minutes.
Attacking from the restart skipper Mike Green led the Hemel Hempstead forwards on a drive for the line, and his side were duly awarded a penalty try for an infringement.
Fly half Daniel O'Brien slotted the conversion to complete Camelot's point scoring for the 80 minutes.
Some poor handling and loose kicks saw Camelot lose the advantage whenever they had it, and before they knew it they were 14-7 after a 33rd minute counter attack.
A typically loose pass then gifted Chiswick another seven points just before the end of the first half.
Camelot were upset by the departure of scrum half Tom Aitken and number 8 Torran MacDougall with suspected concussion at the beginning of the second half.
The visitors battled on but succumbed to another counter to fall behind 26-7 14 minutes into the half and were kept at bay as they tried to salvage something from the restart.
Another kick downfield, which was well chased down by the Chiswick backs, was touched down and converted shortly before the end of play.
