Bosses say their sides have done them proud
Managers Phil Casserley and Steve Heath are delighted with where their teams have finished this season.
Tring Athletic boss Casserley has guided his side to third place in the MSSML Premier Division - their best ever finish - while Heath, whose sole task this season was to avoid relegation, took Green to 10th place, well above expectation.
Casserley said: "It's a huge achievement finishing third behind two great sides in Aylesbury and Chalfont.
"It was a fantastic effort from all the players and hopefully we can build on it for next year."
He saw his side's title dreams slip away during the last two months of the season.
But Athletic, who won three cups in 2008/09, have been a better side this year, he said:
"We have improved this year and although we have no silverware I think it's an equal achievement to winning a trophy or two."
Casserley's last game in charge this year was a 1-0 win at Hatfield Town on Saturday that secured third.
Tony Fields got the game's only goal as he tapped in Danny Gray's cross mid-way through the first half.
Green boss Heath was on board only a fortnight before the season started.
With little pre-season preparation, he found the going tough early on but saw his side gel as the season got into full swing.
Many of the players came with Heath from Division One side Kings Langley, and showed they could make the step up to Premier Division football.
Levy were in the top eight for much of the season but a poor run of form in the home straight saw them slide down the league but stay in the top half.
But they finished on a high with a 3-0 defeat of St Margaretsbury - Gary Connolly, Dale Sears and Simon Conway getting their goals in the second half on Saturday.
Heath said: "From where we were at the start of the season we have really consolidated things, and a lot of this year has been about getting ready for next year.
"We have managed to compete with pretty much everyone in the league and hopefully we can push for the top six next year.
"I only joined two weeks before the start of the season and the games come so thick and fast I don't feel like we have been able to put our own stamp on the club.
"I'm looking forward to pre-season it will be the first time we can do that."
Keep up-do-date with goings-on at both clubs in summer in The Gazette.
