In-Spired Dacorum & Tring athletes lead way at Bushey

Dacorum and Tring athletes produced some fantastic performances at the Bushey 10Kon Sunday.

Dominating the men’s and ladies team prizes, there were also a few podium positions and age group prizes.

The men’s team of Jamie Marlow, Robert Jackson and Richard Brawn took the top prize with Jamie also finishing second overall in 36:03, with Richard next in 41:52 and Robert racing home in 41:53. They were joined by Tony Reeve in 49:58 and Jim Mason who finished in 52:03. Richard Stevens and Russell Morris also put in fantastic runs.

The ladies side of Samantha Fawcett, Becky Fawcett and Celia Findlay also took home the team prize with Sam finishing as second woman overall in a new PB of 41:08.

Celia raced home in 46:41 to finish as first female V50 with Becky close behind her in 47:01, placing second in her age category.

Tamara French turned out for her first race since the Brighton marathon, crossing the line in 48:17 whilst Louise Flower raced to a superb 56:20 with Samantha Hawkridge hot on her heels, powering to a 1hr 01 finish across the hilly route.

Ant Gomm raced home to a course PB in the 5k event where he was joined by Andy Gee, who crossed the finish line in 29:29.

Although the heat got a bit much at the Bassingbourn Half Marathon, Annette Howard produced a brilliant 2:25 finish time.

The course follows a multi terrain route including footpaths, trail and often marshy undergrowth.
