Great night for D&T runners at Watford Open

Dacorum & Tring AC's Middle Distance squad notched up another fantastic night at the Watford Open Meeting this week.

The group posting 10 new PBs and U17 athlete Olive Coles breaking the club record for the 400m with her magnificent time of 59.64.

Olive now holds the club U17 records for an impressive three events: the 300m, 400m and 800m. She also recorded an electronic time of 66.23 for the 400m hurdles in the Southern League match earlier this month, matching a U17 record of 66.2 that was hand-timed back in 1987.

Other stellar results posted by Dacorum & Tring’s young stars include: U15 boy Luke Burford, who finished second in the 400m Race 2 in 54.54; U13s Sam Burnell and Izzy Painter, who both posted PBs in the 800m Race 2 with their respective times of 2:40.92 and 2:43.07; Olivia Edwards (U13) who grabbed a two-second PB in the 800m Race 3 with a time of 2.37.51; Thomas Ashton (U13), with a PB of 2.34.33 in the 800m Race 4, and, in the same race,Alex Bousfield (U17), with a PB of 2:34.45; George Dowling (U15), with a PB of 2.29.13 in the 800m Race 5; Sarah Grover (senior women) with a new PB of 2.15.91 in the 800m Race 14: Joshua Van Heiningen (U17), with a five-second new PB of 2:07.26 in the 800m Race 16; Kristian Imroth (U15), with a four-second PB of 2.08.69 in the 800m Race 17 and Rhys Rowlands (U20), who ran 2.08.23 in the 800m Race 20.

The Middle Distance squad, coached by the highly-regarded UKA Level 3 coach Mike Dunphy, now has their sights set on next month’s Eastern Young Athletes League match at the Allianz Copthall stadium in North London.
