Gade Valley Harriers mark anniversary with sports day

Gade Valley Harriers' 25th anniversay celebrations continued on Saturday when they took over Jarman Park Athletics ground for a Family Sports Day.

The Harriers, and their families tried their hand at various track and field events, many for the first time since their school days.

The final event of the day was a 10K relay race, where four teams of people, comprising both adults and children, raced over 10K distance.

The teams of eight completed the 25 lap race, tying in nicely with the 25th Anniversary theme.

Also included were fun events like bean bag tossing and a grand obstacle race to test their agility, followed by a family barbecue and medal presentation ceremony at The Box Moor Trust.

Club Chairman Andy Newing expressed his appreciation for all the hard work the GVH Committee had put in in to make the day a huge success, and to all the Harriers, and their families, for making the day so enjoyable.
