Dacorum and Tring star athlete Philly Lowe won the England Championships at Bedford last weekend.

Representing Hertfordshire in the 400m, she won her heat comfortably, and qualified for the final with the fastest time of the eight runners.

In the final, she went off hard, and had gone past all of her competitors by the half-way mark.

The wind was strong but Philly maintained her form and her lead right through to the finish line.

Philly, who is a PE teacher at Hemel Hempstead School, has now been selected to run for England at the Manchester International Match.

She will compete in the 400m and the 4x400m relay against Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Philly won the Sports Person of the Year award at the 2016 Dacorum Sports Award earlier this summer.
