Sunday League kicks off

Sunday League football kicked off in Dacorum on the weekend.

The start of the new season of the Reklaw Berkhamsted Sunday League began with Sarratt DA progressing through to the second round of the Steve Norwood Challenge Cup by beating Wigginton Reserves 8-5.

Sarratt's Mark Leslie bagged an impressive
five goals and Wigginton's Paul Heath hit three.

In the Premier Division of the Sunday League AFC Boars beat Ashlyns United 3-0, while Nick Jackson scored three in Hemel Rovers Sunday's 4-3 win over Berkhamsted Tornadoes.

Gossoms End beat Greenacres II 4-3, while Comets Sports Club and Leverstock Green Centurians thrashed Old Grey Mare and St George Crusaders respectively.

In Division One Dave Green bagged a hat-trick as Cementaprise won 5-1 at AC Hemel, while a closely-fought game between Green Dragon Flaunden and The Swan was won 4-3 by Dragon.

Hemel Town Celtic scored a dramatic victory against The Albion. Down 3-1 at the interval Celtic scored two in the last three minutes to claim all three points.

Meanwhile Trevor Gibbs and Joe Hoque both scored twice as Wigginton beat Landrovers 6-0 and Greg Porter hit the only goal of the game as Berkhamsted Raiders beat Tring Royals 1-0.

Division Two saw BSI FC win 4-1 against Landrovers Reserves as Mark Gaffer and Joe Ellis scored for Bennetts Hemel in their 2-1 win against The George.

Jason Julien and Curtis Davidson hit a brace each en route to helping Berkhamsted Rangers to a 4-0 crushing of Studham Social, whilst DPFC's Chris Parperi bagged all four goals against Buncefield.

Park Rangers finished on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat to Litten Tree.
Castlemead drew 1-1 with Draeger Medical in Division Three and Green Park Rovers came away from Kings Langley CC AMS with a 6-1 win - Dave Hollick scoring twice.

Matt Laverack was the star of the show during Shaka's 6-2 beating of Comets Sports Club Reserves. He scored five in of Shaka's six goals.

The Bull, meanwhile, came out on top against The Queens Head and there were five different scorers as Warners End stormed to a 5-1 victory against Herald United.

One of the only drawn games of the day was between AC Grapes and Anchor Tring. That game finished 4-4.

Ricky Shepherd notched up four goals of his own in Berkhamsted Tornadoes Reserves' 7-2 drubbing of Haven, as Scott Bangerte and Sean Workman hit four between them as AMG United beat Leverstock Green Centurians Reserves 5-1.

The match between Palace and Bennetts End Athletic was postponed, while The Old Bell will be wishing their match with The Midland was called off after they lost 9-1. Rocco Cordara was the star of the showing racking up five goals.
