The 13-year-old, who plays for Essex side Buckhurst Hill, was named 'best forward' in the Tesco Cup, where his side was representing the South of England against three other regional sides in the Under 13s National Finals.

And despite going out in the semi final on the day, Cauley, who goes to Hemel Hempstead School, was named as the best striker of the competition.

He said of the day: "It was quality. Even though we got knocked out it was definitely worth going. Especially for me!

"I didn't score but they said I had a good game. We should have won really we got knocked out in the last second of extra time."

The avid Arsenal fan, who lives on Lockers Park Lane in Hemel Hempstead, was presented with the award by ex-England stopper Peter Shilton.

His side found their way to the Finals, which took place at Leicester City's Walkers Stadium on Saturday (May 10), by way of winning the Essex Cup and going on to find success in South of England Cup.

Their semi final loss meant his side came the equivalent of third out of 2200 teams, with their success in getting that far in no small part due to the young goal-machine from Hemel Hemptead.

The former Spurs trainee has a hatful of goals to his name, and is only looking to grab more for his club next season.

He is certainly one to watch for the future...
