Seven catches from the Hemel field was the key to their win over Hertford on Saturday.
Combined with the bowling of Brett Penny (5-48) and Nick Hodgins (4-33) the field restricted Hertford to 133 all out. It was then the turn of the Hemel batsmen to impress - Hemish Ilangaratne hitting 44 before Riccy Mohamed scored 55 not out to help hemel win by eight wickets.

The win lifts them off the bottom of HCPL Division two East.

They sit only five points clear of Langleybury, who were beaten in a thrilling match by Potters Bar.

In Division One of the HCPL Tring Park had a day to forget as they were bowled out for a meagre 58 by Oxford. The league-leaders toppled their total without losing a wicket to leave Tring in fifth spot.

In Division One of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League, Berkhamsted beat Hitchin by four wickets to leave them in seventh place in the table, while in Division Two Levy Green sit three points off the top after they were beaten by Watford Town.

Elsewhere Abbots Langley remain rock bottom despite beating Welwyn Garden City and Northchurch were dismissed for just 83 as they were thrashed by Northwood Town.

Hemel Hempstead II effectively ended any promotion hopes they had by drawing at Ickleford in Division Three. They can consider themselves lucky to even draw after Ickleford notched up an impressive 249-9 in their innings.

Kings Langley sit nine points off of a play-off place in the same division after overcoming North Enfield away from home.

Redbourn are now 47 points clear in Division Four largely thanks to Ahmed Jamal and Gary Sandford who rescued them with the bat. They look destined to become champions, with only three games remaining.

Second place Clarendon beat North Mymms II after 50 overs with a respectable 230-7 as Chipperfield were beaten by Harpenden III.

Berkhamsted II tightened their grip on a promotion spot with a 12 run win over Cockfosters II in Division Five, while Langleybury II sit six points behind following a 10 wicket drubbing of Knebworth Park III.

Leverstock Green II are a game closer to relegation after they were beaten by Holtwhites Trinibis, while Northchurch II hover above the drop-zone following their defeat to St Albans West Indian.

All of Dacorum's Divison Six teams could still face the drop. Hemel Hempstead III suffered a five wicket loss to Old Camdenians, while Boxmoor were demolished by Welwyn Garden City III and Abbots Langley II suffered the same fate against Southgate Compton.

Mid-table is still tight in Division Seven with Flamstead occupying ninth place - three points clear of Dunstable and three behind Old Finchleians II. Redbourn II kept their promotion hopes alive with a victory over Hatfield II, reaching Hatfield's total with eight overs to spare.

Clarendon II dominated their Division Eight encounter with Elstree on Saturday, but failed to gain the win they deserved. The highlight of their innings was a maiden 50 by 13 year old county wicket keeper Jack Read.

Elsewhere, Chipperfield managed a good win against Wheathampstead II while Hemel Hempstead IV still sit close to the relegation places after losing to Cheshunt by seven wickets.

Langleybury III remain way out in front in Division Nine, seeing off Datchworth II within 28 overs of stepping into bat. Leverstock Green look assured of a promotion place in Division 10 in spite of a poor showing against Broxbourne III.

Kings Langley III continue to struggle in the relegation zone after they were easily beaten by Boxmoor, and Abbots Langley III were on the wrong end of a nine wicket walloping from Rickmansworth III.

Great Gaddesden needed fewer than 11 overs to see off Knebworth Park V in their Division 11 game - Gadds remain top of the league but only by two points.

A promotion place is still a possibility for Berko III after they drew with Hatfield III in Division 12, while Leverstock Green IV look almost sure to survive despite slumping to defeat against Watton-at-Stone II.

Hemel Hempstead V meanwhile notched up a victory against Met Police Bushey III with Luke Minett and Trevor Radcliffe performing well with the ball. Elsewhere, Redbourn III took the Division 13 title with two games left to play with a win against Welwyn Garden City V.
