Potten End ladies will take on country's best

Four Potten End ladies will represent Hertfordshire at the Bowls National Finals at Leamington Spa.

Pam Smith, Jan Dean, Glad Pearce and Eileen Clements won the County Four's semi final and will take on the best from around the country on Sunday July 27.

Potten End were also successful in the semi final of the Griffin Cup, beating Met Police
39 -28. They also won on Wednesday 74-70 against North Mimms, top rink of Frank Willcocks, Dave Gomm and Eric Winter.

The weather stayed dry for Kitcheners' match against Wendover although they lost 73-89. Top rink went to Sue Halsey, Debbie Whitting, Colin Jones and Tony Scattergood. They won their previous match against Abbots Langley the previous Sunday, top rink of Bet Sells, Yvonne Owens and Brian Rumph.

Last week Berkhamsted's Carole Dunn and Lesley Brown won their game against Bushey which takes them to the semi finals of the Ladies County Pairs Competition.

On Sunday, July 13 Ken Maynard again skippered the top rink assisted by Paul Greenfield and Pat Ringwood, helping Berko to a 84-75 shot win against Chalfont St Giles.

The Hemel Hempstead three of Martin Koen, David Puddifoot and Tony Benham had a top rink in the Men's Triple game against DeHavilland, Hatfield where Hemel won 57-48.

The club also beat Amersham 99-82 and Radlett 83-72. Hemel's ladies won by 12 shots in their Rinks match against Kings Langley and by 29 shots against Chesham.
