Kings Langley missed out on the chance to go top of the MSSML Division 1 table on Saturday when they were held to a goalless draw by Sun Sports.
Home side Sun Sports had the better of the first half and were unlucky to see a long range shot hit the outside of the post.

Langley struggled to keep possession of the ball, something that was particularly important given the strong wind they we
re kicking into.

Their best chance came when Lewis Pritchard connected with a Lee Bircham free kick only to see the Sun keeper pull off a good save at his near post.

Despite not passing the ball well, Langley defended resolutely and managed to go in level at the break.

With the conditions in their favour in the second half, Langley turned the tide on their opponents and began to dominate territorially.
But they lacked quality in open play and were most dangerous from set pieces.

To their credit, Sun defended well and continued to carry a threat on the counter attack.

Despite Langley changing their strikeforce as the half wore on, they were unable to break down the home side and in the end a draw was a fair result.

Saturday's game came on the back of an excellent midweek Challenge Cup win over local Premier Division side Leverstock Green.

Ex-Green man Allan Arthur grabbed both goals for Langley, David Parkinson replying for the Green.

Langley now face Brimsdown Rovers in the 2nd round.

This Saturday sees them entertain Harpenden Town in another league game.
