Devilish duo's brave bronze

Hemel Hempstead's England international dragon boaters Chris Preston and Marco Lorenzi took a superb bronze at the 34-mile Waterside D kayak marathon on Sunday.

The duo had the distinct feeling that the 'D' represented the devil as despite good weather and a following wind it was a long, hard paddle with a tunnel and 35 portages.

However the intrepid pair clocked a superb 4hrs 42mins to take third in their K2, while Robin Oakley, in his first K1 race, did a very
creditable 6hrs 22mins.
