Sunshine accompanied 1300 footballers as Comets Sports Club's annual six-a-side football tournament was played out over last weekend.
A massive 160 teams took the pitches of Longdean School, with players ranging from six years old up to seniors.

The hosts won the senior section with the club's Dolphins side taking the U13s. Markyate Youth won the U18 category.

The U7 and U8 categories, as well as the special needs section, were non-competitive.

Comets chairman Dan Meaney was impressed with the standard of football played across the weekend.

"There was some great football played right up from the youngest age groups to the seniors," he said.

"We want to thank Longdean School for making their facilities available, without that kind of co-operation the tournament
wouldn't happen."

Some of the money raised over the weekend will go to the Cardiomyopathy Society, who support people affected by the disease and help fund research.
