Castle knocked down by lower league side

Division Two side Castlemead were knocked down by a side in the league below.
They crashed out of the BSFL Intermediate Cup at the second round stage after going down at The Midland.

The reliable Rocco Cordara and Lee Evans were on target for the winners, Andy Grew getting his name on the scoresheet for Castlemead.

Park Rovers (Mark Manangan, Brett Rance, Ross Hollick, Ross Horwood) managed the same feat against Archers Revenge (Sean Jackson) 4-1 as did Hemel Abbotts (Ryan Walsham (2), Gary Insley, Matt Honey) with a 4-2 defeat of Park Rangers (Tom Franklin (2)).

Joining them in the next round are fellow Division Three outfit Kings Langley CC AMS.

Liam Schutes scored three times with Colin Wilson and Ryan Lock to give them a 5-3 win over Draeger Medical (Lee Plowright, Bel Bourguig, an own goal).

Leo Mullett struck an incredible four goals to seal Warners End's progression, in a 9-4 victory over BSI FC (Neil Harper, Craig Sharples, Nick Payne, Daniel Bond).

Ned Ozkasim (2), Paul Branson, Lee Picknell and Joe Kemp also scored for Warners End.

Karl Yarham, Ben Hull and Tom Halden found the target in Top of the World's 3-0 win over AMG Utd, while Herald United beat The George 8-3.

Scott Carrington (2), James Ivory (2), Kevin Price, Lee Butler, Ben Oakley and Scott Dennis found the net for the winners, Stephen Mason, Lewis Wornham and Jay Hampstead for the losers.

In the Herts Sunday Senior Cup Landrovers (Andy Keane) were beaten 6-1 at Nicholas Breakspear OB, Leverstock Green Centurians were smashed 7-0 by St Josephs (South Oxhey) and Premier Division leaders Berkhamsted Tornadeos beat AFC Boars 5-2 - Dan Evans, Tom Kelly, Ben Clarke and Andy Wheeler-King getting the goals.

James McNulty and Warren Drysdale scored for Boars.

Elsewhere Comets Sports Club had Woods Mullan to thank as they saw off Bishop Stortford Swifts 1-0, and Stuart Stedman and Kerry Gordon (2) notched as AC Daniels beat MH Goldsmith 3-2 after extra time.

The game between Hemel Town Celtic and Cassiobury Rangers was called off.

The second round of the BSFL Junior Cup saw The Queens Head (Brad Tyson (2), Duncan Allen and Jm Thomas) go through at the expense of Palace (own goal, James Taylor) 4-2 while Leverstock Green Centurians Reserves beat The Old Bell gate 6-0 – Danny Allen scoring a hat-trick, added to by Dylan Rance, Paul Greenway and Warren Davies.

David Bayliss (2), Ricky Shepherd (2), John Murray and Dave Morris got the goals to put Berko Tornadoes Reserves through 6-4 against The Gade (braces for Mark Sanderson and James Durrant) while The Old Bell (Tom Kilcoyne, Carl Pearce) went down 4-2 at home to Inter Hemel Sunday.

The only Premier Division game to take place saw Bovingdon Rangers get their first three points of the season with a 2-0 defeat of Wigginton.

Division One and Flaunden stay top by beating Greenacres II (Tom Porter, Scott Webster, Alex Kingsley). Tom Sham and Matt Hatchett hitting doubles with Adam Moulster also scoring in the 5-3 victory.

Berko Rangers keep the pressure on with a 7-1 win over Cementaprise. A hat-trick from Darren Caseman plus braces from Matt Lennon and Ian McNaughton for Rangers, Andrew Cooper scoring for Cementaprise.

Berkhamsted Raiders racked up a 1-0 win over AC Hemel, Peter Lofty the sole marksman, Old Grey Mare beat Bennetts Hemel 3-2 thanks to Greg Dormer (2) and Paul Marum while The Swan stuck four past Tring Royals, goals coming from Paul Bryson, Richard McKenzie, James Heward and an o.g.

John Perry hit one back for Royals.

DPFC kept their assault on the top of Division Two alive by beating Adeyfield (Peter Austin) 6-1.

Nick Reynolds and Chris Parperi were each on target twice, Matt Reynolds and Neil Horwood also scoring.

Mokoko meanwhile saw off Landrovers Reserves 5-2, strikes from Neil Pedder and Dean Porter not enough for the home side.

The only game in Division Three saw a massive 11 goals.

Scott Vaughan's treble was the highlight as Comets Sports Club Reserves (also John Walker, Kieran Lanchbery, Iain Whitlock, Jordan Mellor and Jack Stickings) hammered Haven (Scott Harvey (2), Andrew Sparks) 8-3.

Bottom side Anchor Tring were beaten 3-1 in Division Four's solitary fixture.

Martin Sellman and Steve Page were on target for winners Bennetts End Athletic, Carl Barker finding the back of the net for Anchor Tring.
