Camelot kicked off the new season with a match against Park House in the first round of the National EDF Senior Vase competition.
The Kent side kicked off in poor weather and within 12 minutes were seven points behind.

Ross Willoughby drew in a group of defenders as Hemel attacked, off-loaded the ball to number 8 Darren Perry who sprinted across the line to score. Fly half Daniel O'Brien converted.

Camelot continued to attack from the restart with the forwards winning the majority of possession and the backs making breaks into the opposition 22 close to the try line.

Hemel's next score was the result of a fatal kicking error from the home side. Defending from a 5m scrum, the ball hit of one of their own players and went loose near to the try line.

The visitors' winger Carl Buckingham took full advantage - pouncing on the loose ball to score his debut try for the first team.

O'Brien converted extending the score to 14-0 with half time approaching.

Camelot captain and hooker Mike Green set up the next score, 13 minutes into the second half.

Stealing an opposition lineout ball in the opposition 22 his side pressed towards the try line. Scrum half Tom Aitken recycled the ball from a ruck and fly half O'Brien slotted the ball neatly between the posts for a drop goal taking the score to 17-0.

A strong visiting defence kept Park House at bay as they tried to claw their way back into the match, and it was Green who again led the way in search of another Camelot try.

He broke away and found Darren Perry who scored his second of the match extending the lead to 22-0 with 15 minutes remaining.

Centre Ben Kay broke through the defence to dot down while a superb solo effort from Buckingham finished the scoring just before the final whistle. The game finished 26-0 to Camelot.

They play Hitchin at home in their first league match this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
