Abbots Langley look likely to slip after wet weekend
A draw with Flitwick means Abbots Langley stay rooted to the bottom of Division Two of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League after 11 matches.
Despite racking up a credible score of 212-6, the home side just couldn't find a way through Flitwick's batsmen, leaving Abbots Langley looking ever more likely to drop down to Division Three by the end of the season.
In the Home Counties Premier League, Tring Park remain top of Division One despite losing to a visiting Banbury side. Matt Bowyer, hitting 83 not out, was the star performer for Tring.
In Division Two East Hemel Hempstead Town remain only a point above bottom place after their game with Stevenage was called off due to rain, while Langleybury leapfrogged their local rivals with an excellent eight wicket win over Harpenden.
Back in the Herts Cricket League, Berkhamsted Town took just 22 overs to beat Totteridge Millhillians' score of 110, with Herring and Langley both deadly in the Berko attack.
In Division Two, league-leaders Leverstock Green hit a resounding 225-8 in their win over Ampthill Town, while fellow Gazette Cup semi-finallists Northchurch bowled Watford out for only 62 runs as they swept to victory.
Hemel Hempstead II lost a tight game with St Albans by one wicket in Division Three, as Kings Langley were bowled out for 93 by Broxbourne.
Division Four leaders Redbourn strolled to their eighth win of the season against Ampthill Town II, leaving them 21 points clear at the top. Darren Bassill was the star— ripping through the middle and late order taking five wickets for just 21 runs off of 12.3 overs.
Meanwhile Chipperfield drew their sixth game of the season as they took on Southgate Adelaide at home. Ian McNicol, who hit 85, and Richard Hudson who scored 62 runs, recorded a partnership of 97 to help take Chips to 192-8.
It was the resistance of Adelaide's middle order which thwarted the home attack and ensured the visitors left with a draw. Meanwhile Clarendon edged towards the top of the league with a win against Northampton Exiles—Budd top-scorer with the bat.
Chorleywood II drew with Leverstock Green II, condemning Green to another week spent at the foot of Division Five, while Northchurch's game with Sandridge was cancelled and Berko II's game with Langleybury II was also rained off.
Only two wickets fell for Abbots Langley II in their win over Welwyn Garden City III in Division Six, as rivals Boxmoor hit 200-6 in their draw with Watford Town II.
Hemel Hempstead III, one of only two Hemel teams to compete on Saturday, marched up to 16th in the league with a 27-run victory over Radlett IV with Martin Botha, Tom Braggins and Ben Dumpleton taking three wickets each for Hemel.
Boxmoor meanwhile drew with bottom-placed Watford Town II to leave both clubs perilously close to the drop.
Flamstead lost to Rickmansworth II in Division Seven as Kings Langley suffered the same fate at home to Hoddesdon III. Redbourn's game at London Colney II was called off.
Chipperfield II hit 177-6 as they beat North Enfield II in Division Eight, while both Hemel Hempstead IV and Clarendon II had the disappointment of having their games cancelled.
Langleybury III remain in second place in Division Nine after a disappointing loss to struggling Monken Hadley, while Leverstock Green also sit in second in their league—Division 10—after their game with Northampton Exiles II was called off and Harpenden Dolphins strolled to victory over Old Elizabethans II.
Elsewhere in that league Kings Langley III and Abbots Langley III were both well beaten as Boxmoor II triumphed over Shenley Village III.
Great Gaddesden remain top of the pack in Division 11 after another win, this time by four wickets, against Pirton.
Berkhamsted III are in third spot in Division 12 after they drew with Botany Bay III, despite a solid 72 from Todd, while Leverstock Green IV made light work of Ware II, Flamstead II drew with Tewin II and Hemel Hempstead V conceded to Watton-at-Stone II.
Redbourn III sit comfortably atop Division 13 following yet another win, this time against Rickmansworth IV. It took Redbourn just 28 overs to beat their opponents' total of 125.
Berkhamsted III were well beaten by Divison 14 leaders Hatfield Crusaders III, while other local teams did no better: Abbots Langley IV lost at Hatfield Hyde III and Kings Langley IV were thrashed at home by Broxbourne IV.
