Nominated by Mr R Matthews
There is no doubt in the minds of his passengers that Hemel Hempstead bus driver Paul Dashwood has the X Factor.

Paul was nominated for People's Pride because he cheers up everyone who steps on his bus with a smile and friendly banter.

It is not his first accolade as the popular driver secured first place in the Arriva X Factor 2007 competition last month, that sought to find the Eastern area's best bus driver.

Nominating, Paul's friend Mr R Matthews of Field Road, said: "Paul can always be relied on to cheer anybody up, at any time of day, no matter if it's the beginning or the end of his shift. He always has a smile on his face no matter what he does.

"He is very kind, helpful and polite to his passengers."
As well as being a good bus driver, Paul is evidently a good friend as well.

Mr Matthews added: "When I had a heart operation Paul drove me here-there-and-everywhere. He helped me out while I was recovering from the operation and when my Dad died earlier this year and also when I moved from home. He is always happy to help me if I ask him.

"It is not just my opinion of him, if you were to get on one of his buses you would be able to see for yourself his compassion and friendliness towards other people."
