Published Date: 02 January 2008
Nominated by Peter McDonnell
To the people of Kings Langley he is more than a parish councillor.

He has time for every person living in the village and goes beyond the call of duty to make their community a better place, making parish council chairman Gerry Angiolini a deserved candidate for People's Pride.

Former parish councillor Peter McDonnell may not share Gerry's political views but believes there is no one more deserving of community pride than his former colleague.

He said: "I'm a different political party to Gerry, but while I was on the parish council with him I got to see how much he does for other people.

"Gerry is the most unselfish person I have ever known. He does such good work. He's the most selfless bloke I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

"Among many other things he is heavily involved with the Kings Langley Gardens competition and it brings such joy to the elderly people who are involved.

"He works non-stop for the community and doesn't get a penny and everything he does is for the good of other people.

"Gerry's so well loved in the village. He is a one off and I think the guy is fantastic."
