Are you aware of warning signs of when an older person may be the victim of abuse?

Hertfordshire’s
Safeguarding Adults Board is reminding people to be vigilant as part of today’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Abuse takes a number of forms such as physical,
financial or emotional and it is vital that people look out for tell-tale signs.

John Barfoot, deputy
cabinet member for adult care at Herts County
Council, said: “Most abuse and neglect happens in
people’s own homes and often occurs, not with any intent, but by accident or ignorance on the part of family or friends.” To report cases of neglect or abuse call 0300 1234042, or 999 in an emergency.
