Tots go to great lengths to swim underwater!

Waiting for Video...

Babies and tots under 4 learn to swim underwater using techniques that could one day save their life.

Waterbabies is a nationwide organisation that teaches over 31,000 babies to swim every week. Every activity during the half hour sessions has an underlying purpose, whether it be safety, breathing, body position or swimming strokes. It is a fun experience that introduces parent and child to the water.

Mum Sadie from Bedford brings two year old Violet along every week.

She said ‘’Violet really enjoys it, swimming is an important thing for her to learn early on. She’s got no fear but also knows to hold on. One of the first things they teach them is to make their way to the edge and pull themselves out.’’

Another of the water babies is three year old Freya (pictured) who just loves going underwater and happily smiled and blew kisses to the camera when video reporter Natalee Hazelwood went along to film this unique view of the tots learning to swim at the Bodyflight pool in Milton Ernest.
