Underwoods Solicitors have extended their sponsorship of Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club, agreeing a new four-year deal as main shirt sponsors.

The Hemel Hempstead law firm has been the shirt sponsor for the last two seasons, during which time the club has risen from the Southern League to the brink of the Conference South playoffs, as well as enjoying great cup success.

That takes us until the end of 2018/19 season and I hope that we will be in the Football League by then.

Kerry Underwood, chairman of Underwoods Solicitors

Kerry Underwood, chairman of Underwoods Solicitors, and a Vauxhall Road regular who is rarely separated from his Hemel top said: “I am delighted that we have agreed a further four-year sponsorship arrangement with Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club.

“That takes us until the end of 2018/19 season and I hope that we will be in the Football League by then.

“This town deserves a team in the League and I hope that we can build on the work of people like chairman, Dave Boggins, who has brought the club up from almost nothing to where it is now”.

Kerry, a Londoner by birth, but who has lived in Dacorum for 30 years, is well-known for his love of his adopted town and is always fiercely protective of Hemel Hempstead.

His firm, famous throughout the legal world, is heavily involved in the town, being the main shirt sponsors of rugby league side Hemel Stags, and sponsors of the Old Town Christmas Lights.

Recently appointed partner Leah Waller is a trustee of the Snow Sports Foundation based at the Snow Centre and works with Community Action Dacorum.

As well as being the main Hemel Town shirt sponsors, Underwoods Solicitor paid for coach travel and admission to the FA Cup first round match at Bury this season and paid for U18 season tickets.

Tudors chairman Boggins says he is ‘over the moon’ that Underwoods have pledged their continued support to the club.

He said: “I don’t know whether people are aware but Underwoods not only sponsor the club, they also do our legal work for free as part of the sponsorship deal.

“Their contribution to the club in regards to obtaining all of the legal requirements which we need in order to take the club forwards is huge and I just can’t thank them enough.

“To know that they are committed to the club for another four years is just fantastic. We need a company like Underwoods to be there helping us to achieve our goals, so I’m absolutely over the moon.

“For the club to go forwards it needs lots of little cogs rolling in the right direction to make the wheel turn and they really are a big part of that.

“It has been my absolute dream since I took over the club some 18 years ago for us to reach the Football League and I really hope it might happen in my lifetime.

“Whether it happens in the next four years or not is a tough call, but we have a decent management team, good sponsorship, and we are certainly moving in the right direction. In football, anything is possible.”
