The Box Moor Trust has an all-terrain mobility scooter for loan so people who are less mobile can enjoy the outdoors on the trust’s land at Westbrook Hay.

The Tramper is a specially designed four-wheel drive all-terrain electric buggy which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It enables people who have difficulty walking to experience the countryside, woodlands and nature reserves, and to accompany their friends and families when out walking.

Users will be able to discover the fascinating corners along the ‘Orange Walk’, including leafy Hay Wood with its shady pond, the boardwalk and the magnificent meadows with views across the town.

Initially the scooter will be available on the third Thursday of each month, from August to October, and must be pre-booked via the office.

Everyone will have an introductory session to its safe use and the controls with a member of the trust’s team. It is recommended that users are accompanied. If you would like to try out the Tramper, call the trust on 01442 253300.
