The Mayor of Dacorumis inviting readers to join him for afternoon tea.
Gbola Adeleke is hosting a fundraising afternoon tea at Shendish Manor on Sunday, September 13, as part of the Mayor’s Appeal.
All the proceeds will go to his chosen charity, Rennie Grove Hospice Care.
The charity’s fundraising director, Gillian Barnett, said: “The afternoon tea includes a mouth-watering selection of finger sandwiches, homemade sultana scones, clotted cream and preserve, an assortment of afternoon tea desserts and tea or coffee.
“Served in the stunning Orangery at Shendish Manor, in Apsley, from 3pm to 5.30pm and accompanied by music from the Felicity Taylor Jazz Trio, it promises to be a delightful experience.
“Hopefully, some summer sunshine will permit seating outside on the patio. But even if rain prevails, you and your friends can enjoy a relaxing afternoon in this beautiful setting while raising crucial funds for local hospice care.”
There will also be a raffle on the day with many exciting prizes.
Rennie Grove is delighted that the mayor is supporting the charity during 2015/16.
Gillian said: “This year marks 30 years of care for Rennie Grove. Having the Mayor’s support to raise vital funds and awareness for us makes a huge difference, because we continue to rely on the local community for 85 per cent of our costs.”
For tickets, at £17 per person, call the fundraising team at Grove House on 01727 731028 or the mayor’s office on 01442 228202.
