Two men who stole an unknown amount of cash from Tesco Bank in Hemel Hempstead have been jailed for 20 and six weeks respectively.

Paul-Catalin Ungureannu, 26, of Imperial Drive, Harrow, and Alexandru Marian Mihalcea, 27, also of Imperial Drive,

Harrow, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on November 20.

The court heard how, eight days earlier, they had stolen cash from Tesco Bank, contrary to section 1(1) and 7 of the Theft Act 1968, by using four cash claws.

They were both charged with stealing an unknown amount of cash, and of having in their possession or under their control an article, namely four cash claws - devices used to intercept bank notes at cash machines.

Both men entered guilty pleas to the charges.

Ungureannu was jailed for 20 weeks and Mihalcea for six weeks. They were

also both ordered to pay victim surcharges of £80, costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, and criminal courts charges of £180.
