Cheddington Production Group (CPG) hosted a sell-out success last month in memory of much-loved friend and fellow player Gill Waterhouse.
The One Night Only show at Cheddington Village Hall featured songs from musicals and comedy sketches.
Created by the CPG Committee and spearheaded by Nikki Mattey, the evening raised £1,125.54 for Rennie Grove Hospice Care, whose nurses cared for Gill before her death earlier this year.
Many talented Cheddington residents took to the stage, including Gill’s daughter Lucy, as well as children from Spirit Youth Drama Group, which Gill led for many years.
Sharron Newland said: “Gill was a much-respected and well-liked resident of Cheddington, and she had a flare and passion for the stage and musicals. So it seemed fitting to honour her memory and raise funds for Rennie Grove with a show incorporating her favourite songs from the musicals along with comedy sketches. As Gill would say: ‘Think of me and smile’.”
The hall was transformed into a party venue with tables decked out with decorations, nibbles and programmes.
Adventure Scouts waited on tables and served drinks to and a raffle with fantastic prizes from local businesses and residents helped boost the total raised.
