See town’s 700-year-old market charter
Granted to the Lord of the Manor at that time, the Abbot of Faversham, the charter allowed him to hold a market in the town which has continues to this day.

Hide AdLocal History Society has been loaned the document for display in the museum in Brook Street for a short period thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The charter will be displayed with a translation and other explanations of the historical context, and visitors
will be invited to mark a modern map of Tring to record their presence at this historic event.
Admission to this volunteer-run museum is free, and the charter will be on display on the following days:
